An intimate, emotive, suggestive, existentialist, dynamic, plastic, sensorial, accessible, attractive, happy and sad, contradictory, very reflexive performance. A proposal which combines reality and fiction, truth and lies.

“This work mixes the audiovisual with live music and the moving arts, to talk to us about nothing. Drowning will be necessary, but also, and moreover, so will to keep on swimming.” Photos: Alberto Navarro
Synopsis
Swimmer is a reflection on the void, on those moments in which your mind goes blank, when you have nothing to tell and nothing in which to believe. Throughout the show there are two basic ideas in play: nothing as a void and complete absence of elements to cling on to or believe in; and swimming as a metaphor for resistance, an attempt not to drown and to keep on swimming even against the current. Trying to remain afloat, although difficult at times, almost impossible, the protagonist tries to return to the essence of things and overcome her fear and anxiety when they change. EnÁmbar’s theatrical proposal combines dance, performance, literature, video and live music. An emotional journey in the form of aesthetic reflection.
