Synopsis

The air turns cold and the sky begins to darken. They say that some dogs are howling and bees are swarming, collapsing the entrance to their hives. Some birds fly in confusion. Time stands still. Everything is silent. Everything is dark. Everything suspended… not knowing what will happen… with the feeling that we could remain forever in this infinite night… But a few seconds later, maybe a few minutes, or it could be years, generations, millennia or eons of existence, the day arrives again. A deep emotion invades us and we feel the privilege of having witnessed an incomprehensible event. We have witnessed the dress rehearsal of a possible end.

The passage of time has always been a transversal topic in the company’s dramaturgy. In this new work, Pont Flotant tries to approach a subject as delicate, complex, mysterious and full of taboos as death, to try to reflect on how we manage, how we react, how we educate, how we prepare ourselves… in the face of this inevitable and irreversible fact. In short, how we live knowing that one day we will no longer be alive.
